thomas h. prettyman, phdThomas H. Prettyman (Ph.D.) is a planetary scientist specializing in chemical remote sensing using instrumentation deployed on spacecraft. He is a Senior Scientist at the Planetary Science Institute and Adjunct Professor at the University of New Mexico Department of Earth and Planetary Science. He has served on several NASA planetary missions, including Lunar Prospector, 2001 Mars Odyssey, and Dawn. Dr. Prettyman is passionate about education and public outreach, and has led many New Mexico outreach activities including seminars, lectures, and workshops for students, parents, and teachers from native American communities. He is Guest Curator of a Dawn exhibit at the New Mexico Museum of Natural History and Science.
